Presidents Report

1. Computer class is ongoing with one more class scheduled.
2. Volunteers cleaned out the Principals old office.
3. School building flooring/Walkway ongoing.
4. Paving parking lot is complete.
5. Volunteers prepared the front rooms for rental.
6. Volunteers removed additional pipes. Remaining two radiator’s
and pipes in the event room and old principals office.
7. Grant update.
8. Resourceful communities was on site May 14th.The visit went well
and the grant has been approved.
MANNA/Dogwood trust grant is now paying MANNA cost except for
CO-OP items.
8. The Acidified Foods Manufacturing School class is ongoing with
tree weeks remaining.
9. FCCA representative’s attended the MANNA partner conference.
10.A community volunteer agreed to clean the bathrooms on MANNA
weeks.
11.Two community members attended four webinars by NCST
titled “Navigating your food business” in May. These cover food
safety related topics.
12.Dogs on Leash signs installed and no weapons signs were
refurbished.
13.Two community members attended the HCCDC meeting.
14.Volunteers repaired the men’s and women’s toilet in Gym.
15.Ramp diner made approximately $1,600.
16.We provided food to the United Methodist Church food bank.
17.The Life Line event went well and was a success.
18.MANNA hours are changing to 9-10am starting in June.
19.We had to have a homeless person removed from the property after
they had been here for five days and refused to vacate. They
refused all of our offers of help.
20.Marque letters will now be kept in the office. A board member will
be the backup for the Facebook account.
21.Haywood Pathways center is providing a food truck to replace the
discontinued Holy Cow truck.
22.Community volunteers repainted the kitchen bathroom.
23.Community volunteers installed blown in attic insulation at the
old school building.
24. Community volunteers made raised beds from scrap lumber for herbs
and peppers.
